EXAMINATION PROGRAMSThe Ballet Examination Program is unlike any other program of its type. Our program, most importantly, has been devised for the needs of the private dance school, but always maintains the high technical level necessary in the dance world of today. The program is divided into two categories (Pre-Dance and Levels). Pre-Dance has levels A, B and C. In order to begin the Pre-Dance program, the student must be 5 years of age or older. Levels includes 6 levels which cover an 8-year education in ballet. To be admitted to the first level of Levels, the student must be 8 years of age or older. The student is not penalized for physical defects concerning Classical Ballet, but is encouraged to reach the maximum of their ability. Through our examination program, we promote the Love for the Art of Ballet, which is the necessary foundation of all the other disciplines of dance. We are also opening the doors to good dance education for all; giving the teachers the possibility to continue their dance education so that they may maintain and update their professional level in their school, thus assuring parents that they have made a correct choice of school for their child. Vancliffen Ballet Examination Program, as well as our other dance programs, does not stop there. It is also our scope to find and help young talents to achieve their dream. Once a student has arrived at the third level of the program, has distinguished his/herself, and we feel that they have a real talent for the Ballet, they are eligible for a scholarship which consists of 5 prizes. This applies to all our dance programs and to all students around the world that participate in our dance examinations. The scholarship fund has been created by the "Vancliffen Arts Foundation". A principle element of a good dance education is the dance teacher. We offer at no charge to all teachers doing our dance programs, an annual free private workshop immediately after the examination session. During the year, we are always available to answer any questions that might arise during preparation for the exams. This gives the teacher the opportunity to delve further and widen his/her teaching knowledge and competence, in this case, for the Ballet Examination Program. It is our policy to assign one examiner to each school for the various disciplines. The examiner will continuously follow the school. There will be no yearly changing of examiners. This is done in order that we may have a clear picture of each student’s progress and a continuous relationship with the teachers, which we feel is very important. Vancliffen Ballet Examination Program does not only do Ballet exams, but we have already launched our new Jazz Program, created for us by Rosanna Rizzuto, dancer, teacher, examiner and choreographer from Los Angeles. In 2005-2006, Tap and Modern dance will also be added. The Jazz examination program is made up of 6 levels and the starting age is 8 years of age. In order to prevent difficulty for the student, we also suggest that they have a ballet-based education.
